Please Help; I'm Freaking About Dieting!?

A diet help question that should definitely interest you all this week

Question: Okay here’s the deal; I don’t want people saying ‘you’re not fat’ or ‘just eat right and exercise’ I need serious help and opinions here.

I’m 5′ 5" and weight around 120 (sometimes 119 sometimes 121) pounds. I feel fat. I’m afraid I’m slowly sinking into an eating disorder because I have attempted to make myself throw up after large meals. I try to get to my local track once a week and eat right (under 1200 calories and lots of veggies) but I haven’t lost.

I have been taking Zantrex 3 for about 5 days and have seen very little results but my stomach hasn’t totally adjusted to it yet so I’m still hopeful.

I’m thinking about trying this new diet tomorrow:
- full dose of Zantrex 3 (two pills with each meal)
- run at the track for at least 2.5 miles at least twice a week
- cut out carbs entirely except for one meal
- eat around 900 calories per day

Is this safe? Please, please…suggestions?!

Thanks

Answer: i’m sorry but no that is not safe..at all! you need atleast some carbs, for your body to function properly. and if you’re running, believe it or not, when you eat more calories, your body burns more off. because when you exercise and eat barely anything like that, your body thinks that it’s in starvation mode, so whenever you do eat, your body will just store the food and make it into fat, which you don’t want. eat every few hours, but make your snacks fruit and vegetables. eat fiber too! but not too much. running will be good, but drink a ton of water. and if you want to cut down on your meals, drink a full big glass of water before all of your meals. this way you feel really full but you barely ate anything. and make breakfast your biggest meal, that way you have all day to burn off the calories. and please remember that your body burns off calories as you do daily routines. oh and run either in the morning or afternoon. running in the morning burns the most fat calories and jumpstarts your metabolism to burn more calories during your day. running at nighttime will burn calories, but will not burn fat calories!

Need a Diet Plan That Will Help Me Lose Weight Fast (trying to Lose 15 Pounds) 10 Points?

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of diet help. Let’s take a look:

Question: I’m 16, 5′9" and I weigh 115 pounds, whenever I would finish eating I felt guilty because I really don’t want to gain any weight but I want to lose weight so I started trying to make myself throw up (I know it’s unhealthy)…but I couldn’t anyways, so instead I stopped eating most of the time so now I eat less then 200 calories a day, anyways I want to be healthy and eat food but I still want to lose 15 pounds so I’m not as fat because I don’t want to be able to grab stomach fat at all cuz it’s gross, so I need advice on what to eat so I can lose 15 pounds fast … And what exercises I can do (besides yoga and running/walking cuz I already do that)
Answer: okay, to get into shape , speed up your metabolism, rid yourself of excess fat and lose weight ,,,,,do as follows:

Stop drinking & smoking (if you do this regularly)
eat fruits & vegetables all you can (buy a food/rice steamer to make it easy on you)…(vegetables might not seem "tasty", like junk foods,, but can be as you aquire your taste to them..and are loaded with energy and nutrients)…avoid all junk food, cokes, sweets, etc…and drink water . If you eat meat ,,use only steamed, baking or grilled methods for preparing fish or chicken.

also, do an hour of walking each day at least. or some type of excercise.

* you should lose about 10 lbs per month

Messed Up Diet Habbits… Please Help, 10 Points?

This week’s question is as follows:

Question: I’m 16, 5′9" and I weigh 115 pounds, whenever I would finish eating I felt guilty because I really don’t want to gain any weight but I want to lose weight so I started trying to make myself throw up (I know it’s unhealthy)…but I couldn’t anyways, so instead I stopped eating most of the time so now I eat less then 200 calories a day, anyways I want to be healthy and eat food but I still want to lose 15 pounds so I’m not as fat because I don’t want to be able to grab stomach fat at all cuz it’s gross, so I need advice on what to eat so I can lose 15 pounds fast … And what exercises I can do (besides yoga and running/walking cuz I already do that)
Answer: Don’t hurt yourself. One thing people don’t realise is that not eating enough slows your metabolism down causing you to store everything you eat rather than burn it off. Try eating 3 peaces of white chicken breast every three hours for three days then take a day off to eat whatever you want, then start it over again. The chicken is low fat low calorie high protein food that will boost your metabolism which is what burns fat. If you do this you will loose The 15 in about a week, but if you continue you will build muscle because of the high protein especially if you are working out, and muscle is heavier than fat. Good luck and be safe, worry about your health first and the weight will follow.

Can Someone Help Me with a Starvation Diet Please?

A tough diet help question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: Ok well before you go completely crazy please just try to help… Well I’m 15 almost 16, I’m 6 ‘ 2, and weigh freaking 275lbs! I want to lose weight soooo bad! I try to diet and stuff but it’s not working so I want to do a starvation diet… I am on the football team and thus exercise daily… For well more than 2 hours… We lift for half and do agility/cardio/running for the other half… BUT I’m still not losing weight! PLEASE! I’ve always wanted a six pack but I know that will never happen… I’m tired of not being able to do stuff because of my weight and to me it’s embarrassing to take off my shirt and have to order cloths online because they don’t carry my size. I wish I could get the stomach band, but I can’t. We practice year round mon-sat most of the time… And I still haven’t lost anyone weight! So I’m turning to a starvation diet please help. Please
Answer: I read your whole post, and I know what you’re going through. I weighed 330 pound 4 years ago. I had dieted all my life trying to lose the weight and I did lose it several times, but every time I reached my goal, I went off my diet and celebrated by eating a pizza.

It took me a year to lose a hundred pounds, but I’ve kept it off for the past 3 years. So I want you to listen to me because I have more personal experience with diets than most people in the diet business.

First I’d like to say, starvation and your exercise routine will kill you. I’m not joking or playing it up, it will literally kill you. Please don’t do it.

Your exercising is excessive and it is hurting your ability to lose weight. If you’re not panting then you’re not doing yourself any good for weight loss. You’re probably in too good of shape to lose weight from exercising because you’re not straining yourself. If you’re not panting, then you’re not going to lose weight from exercising. Running would help, but don’t do too much of it in summer time heat. That could cause a heat stroke.

This is what I suggest for you.
In the morning, 2 glasses of water, a multivitamin, then wait 20 minutes before you have breakfast. Eat half as much as you usually do.

Before lunch and supper, be sure to drink 2 glasses of water, and I do mean 8 oz glasses of water, 20 minutes before the meal and eat only half amounts.

Do NOT eat anything 3 hours before bed. You can have water though.

Those simple tricks will help you lose weight.

As for what to eat, I did "The Cave-man Diet". You simply ask yourself, before you eat anything, "Did Cave-men have this to eat?" If the answer is no, then don’t eat it. Vegetables, meat, water, and a little fruit are what you eat. I cheated by having coffee, tea, cheese, and a little ketchup for the meat. Remember, cave-men did not have pasta, or bread.

Lastly, start jumping rope. That gets me panting quicker than any other exercise.

Now for the legal notes. :-)
Those are my suggestions. Ask a doctor before starting any weight loss program to make sure it is good for your health.

Help on Diets to Lose Weight Please?

Keep the diet help questions coming! I liked this one:

Question: I just want to know how to stick to a diet because i find it so hard.
I want to lose weight quickly so i need a diet that i can stick to that has tasty food with not so many calories….
If you could give examples of what i could eat to lose this weight it´d be amazing!
Oh and also what exercises could i do to lose fat on my stomach, my inner thighs and the region beneath my belly button
Thanks guys x
Answer: There are more tips and info.

1. If what you are eating has less than 1 carb, count it as 1 carb just to be sure.

2. Totally avoid caffine at least for the first two weeks on the program.

3. Drink a MINIMUM of 8 glasses of plain water or seltzer daily.

4. Don’t weigh yourself more than once a week

5. Take starting measurements as well as weight - sometimes you’ll lose inches before pounds

6. Avoid any type of "low carb" sweetener for the first two weeks

7. Don’t compare your loss to someone else’s - this is a YMMV thing (your milage may vary)

8. Stalls are common around the third week so don’t panic

9. If you follow your plan to the T and don’t lose, consider Candida as a possibility and avoid vinegar, cheese, mushrooms and any other fermented food

10. Have bloodwork done before starting so you have a comparison

11. Cholesterol can be elevated in the first few weeks til your body adjusts - make sure your doctor knows that you’re doing low carb and when you started

12. Don’t blame the diet if you don’t read your plan book — blame the diet if you don’t read the labels — Don’t blame the diet if you don’t follow the diet
Good Luck and Take care :-)

3 Week Diet? Can Someone Help Me?

A tough diet help question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: Ok, so I’m going on a cruise to the Caribbean in exactly 3 weeks. I’m so excited, but I just got a couple of new bathing suits, and really want to look good in them. I don’t consider myself over-weight at all. I’m 13 5′3” and 103 lbs. So I don’t really want to loose weight, just like make my legs more toned, and work on my stomach. Does anyone know good ab exercises that work really well? And any diet foods, meaning like what I should watch? Thanks in advance! Loveyou guys! :D
Answer: Best thing to do is go running every day for about 30-60 mins do 20 sit ups bicycle curls and cross overs twice a day and the plank for 3 mins twice a day (: and if you want to go that extra mile try the 2 weeks special k diet (I lost loads doing this ) hope it helps x

Help with Exercise & Diet Plan?

I just love answering these diet help questions. Here’s another:

Question: I’m 16 yrs old, weight 125 lbs, & I’m 5′3. I wanna weight 115 again I think it was a good size for me. I kno I’m not fat at all but my stomach & thighs do jiggle a little, I just wanna tone up a bit (I’d like a 4 pack lol) & was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of stuff to eat & exercises I should do?!
Thanks :)
Answer: You are still young girl. don’t worry too much. You can start doing some exercises and practsing some healthy diets.

I will give you some tips and advice on how you can lose your stomach fats:

1. Eat a snack at the "magic" hour -This is a strange one, but it works like crazy. I want you to always eat a small snack between 3 and 4pm each day, and I want it to be primarily made up of protein and fiber.

Almonds or low-fat cheese, combined with an apple, are a fantastic tag-team combo that help to regulate your blood sugar levels the rest of the day…including at night when most of us are tempted to cheat.

2. Cut out sugar by using an organic sweetener -You want to eat as little sugar as possible each day, next to zero really, if you’re going to get that flat stomach in time for Summer or your vacation. Sugar not only causes our calorie counts to go through the roof, where little food equals big calories, but it also prevents the hormone glucagon from being produced. Glucagon is present when insulin levels are low, and it forces the body to utilize fat deposits, particularly around the belly, for energy.

3. Eliminate or reduce fatty or sugary foods. This is the most likely culprit when it comes to abdominal obesity. Some people have a tendency to store all the weight that they gain in the abdomen and a bad diet just makes that even easier. Foods like potato chips, french fries, greasy burgers and pizzas, and sweets should be eaten sparingly, if at all.

4. Eat more fiber. Fiber is an essential nutrient that most people do not get enough of in their diets. It can also be something that promotes weight loss. Eating foods like vegetables and whole grains will help a person shed those excess pounds around the waist.

5. Drink more water. The body is made up of about 60-70% water and the average person should be drinking at least 8 cups of it. Water is also helpful in burning fat in the body, including the stomach. When a person drinks more water, he or she is replacing sugary drinks, which also can cause fat to accumulate around the belly.

6. Get more exercise. Exercise is perhaps one of the most important tips on how to lose stomach fat that one can follow. Exercise is essential in weight management and will help a person get rid of that potbelly. One caveat is that sit ups alone will not get rid of stomach fat. They mostly strengthen and tighten the ab muscles, which does get rid of fat per se. An exercise program must include cardiovascular and resistance training to reap the best of the gut busting benefits.

That are some tips and advice that I can share with you. So, for more tips on how to lose stomach fat fast, you should visit the website below:

SOMEBODY HELP ME: Why Do I Keep Gaining So Much Weight Despite My Healthy Diet?!!!!!!!?

What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I am 12 years old weigh 106 pounds and measure about 32 inches around my navel which keeps increasing but no matter what I do I always gain weight. It’s like in the Stephen King novel "Thinner" only the other way around. For example, today I only ate 1,076 calories, 153g of carbs, 27g of fat, 54g of protein, 11g of fiber and (this is mostly from fruit) 101g of sugar. I exercise pretty regularly, too only I couldn’t today because my stomach was in agonizing pain. There are girls in my grade who probably eat TWICE what I eat but I just keep watching them get skinnier and skinnier. Guess what? I gained a quarter of inch on my stomach today and an inch yesterday. What am I to do? I am in so much distress and it is making me crazy! I just HATE my life so much because NOTHING ever works out!!!!!!
I AM "4′11"!!!!!
Answer: you’re 12, it’s likely hormonal changes and puberty. your weight probably won’t stabilize until you’re 18 or so, so you shouldn’t worry about it now as long as you get all the nutrients that your body needs and stay active.
