Looking for Suggestions on What Should I Do for My Diet to Help Me Get Lucky with a Baby?

What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: took a short hiatus and am back on the TTC journey soon. Would love some more suggestion on what i need to stay way from eat more of.
Currenlty i eat way more fast food than what is needed and working on fixing that as well I don’t drink too much pop maybe 2-3 20oz a week. I do love coffee and tea. i drink 1 -2 cups a day. even decaffinated ones.
I snack on nuts mainly and fruits and my favorite is popcorn/chips .. i’m not a candy fan. Anyway i am not over weight and am NOT trying to lose weight. Just want to make my efforts of trying to get a bump to be the healthiest as I can get it to be.!
Answer: A healthy fertility diet consisting of good carbohydrates such as brown pasta, lean proteins such as chicken and fish, fruit and veg and low-fat dairy products can help you reduce your BMI to reach your ideal healthy weight.

If you are overweight when pregnant, you are putting yourself at increased risk of pre-eclampsia, diabetes and a difficult delivery. Similarly, if you are underweight when pregnant, your baby is more likely to have a low birth weight.

Help with Diet and Exercise?

A diet help question that should definitely interest you all this week

Question: I’ve always been on the chunky side. I’m somewhere between 5′6-5′7 and 150-155 lbs. Don’t lecture me. During the school year, i tend to eat better than i do in the summer. My diet during the school year is something like this
Breakfast-Yougurt (only thing i can choke down that early)
Lunch-Wrap or Salad or Sandwich, fresh fruit, granola bar or trail mix or little piece of dark chocolate
Snack-Fruit or crackers
Dinner-Wide Variety, but usually a meat, some veggies, and the occasional rice or potatoes
Snack (sometimes, but not after 8)- fruit or yougurt with a couple crackers
I drink plenty or water and usually have milk with dinner.

For exercise, i’m kind of stuck. Fall, no problem i’ll take a walk. Spring no problem, I play softball. But i don’t know what to do during winter. I get exercise during gym, but thats about it. Any ideas?

Answer: 30 minutes of cardio is a healthy thing to do 3 tomes a week(:

Bunnie Diet Please Help?!?

Another diet help question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: Bunnies diet please help!?

I got two lionhead bunnies yesterday. I want to know foods that you can keep inside their cage all the time. Foods that can be as a snack like 1-2 times Max a week. Foods that should be avoided at all times. Thanks

Answer: Rabbits need a diet that is very high in fiber and foliage(like hay.To prevent GI stasis(Hair ball obstruction and over grown molars.Rabbits need to have loose timothy hay grass available 24/7!Other high fiber grasses that can be fed as a substitute for timothy hay is Orchard grass, oat hay,or a mix of both called meadow mix.Alfalfa grass which is also available at pet shops is too high in calcium for adult bunnies so its only recommended as an occasional treat.Timothy hay should be replenish daily and any dried, yellow, or moldy hay should be discarded daily.Timothy hay and dry grasses should make up 80% of a rabbits diet!

Vegetables and herbs are also important to be feed daily
Only in limited amounts.I personally feed my adults a hand full of veggies each daily.

Veggies and herbs
Arugula
Asparagus
Basil
(Fresh)Bay leaf
Broccoli(may cause gas if fed in high amounts
Bell peppers(Red,yellow,green
Beet greens(Only the greens(No beet root
Cilantro
Chicory
Celery(Remove fibers)
Collard greens
Carrot tops(One top for adults Too high in calcium for adults
Chard(Swiss chard
Escarole
Fennel
Mint(pepper mint or spear mint LEAVES
Parsley(cilantro and parsley are both related so feeding both at the same time will not supply him with a variety
parsnips
Oregano(fresh
Thyme
Rosemary
Spinach(Small amounts for adults too high in calcium
Sage
Water cress
Zucchini

I recommend feeding three different types of veggies daily.

Veggies/food to avoid
Yucca
potato
Cali flower
Cabbage
Ice berg lettuce
Avocado
Corn
Tomato
Fruit seeds
Seeds
Beets
Onions/garlic/chives
Cucumber
Butter cup flowers
Oak leaves
Raw kidney beans
Maple leaves
Horse reeds
plum leaves and wood
Daisy

Rabbits should not be fed high amounts sweet treats and fruits.Treats should only make 20% of a bunnies diet(Two table spoon fulls of treats daily.Treats that can be offered
are
Alfalfa sprouts
Apple slice(No seeds
Raisins
Raspberries
Dried Cranberries
Cranberries
Cantaloupe
Cherries(no seeds nor leaves/stem
Carrot pieces(never feed a whole carrot to a rabbit
Grapes
Pear fruit(No seeds
Plum no seeds
Papaya (No seeds
Pine apple
Star fruit
Melon
Water melon(no seeds
Make good treats

Treats like yogurt drops are my rabbits favorite but are not good for them and should be limited to 1 to 2 drops every two days.

Snack - Approx 15-20 green grapes
20 mins of skipping and light jogging
Dinner- 2 slices of white toasted bread with baked beans on top, with a little bit of cheese (aka Beans on toast haha), and a lemon mouse to finish

I dont plan to eat anything else later, but me being me, im sure i will fall a bit peckish, so just incase i do, what snack would you recommend to eat later on.
Has todays diet been a good one?

Please let me know! (And any tips are hugely welcome!!!)

Diet Help? Take out Only Option?

I just love answering these diet help questions. Here’s another:

Question: Okay, so I have been really serious about my fitness since September. I started p90 about October after biking everyday for an hour a day. Well, my bike stopped working so now it’s only p90. Well, I only eat 2 times a day, dinner and a snack. I have a weird schedule so it works for me. What my question is, is how can I maintain a healthy calorie intake with the foods my dad buys, which is usually garbage foods like pizza several times a week? He’s really lazy and doesn’t put effort into dinner. How can I go about eating healthier when I have to eat fast take outs when I don’t have an option?
Answer: Many fast food places offer options for grilled chicken now, so try to opt for that over fried. Try to choose things that aren’t fried when possible. If you do have to order fried, try to remove any batter and skin. If your remove the skin and batter from KFC chicken, you will remove most of the oil for example. Choose wheat bread over white when possible. If eating pizza, try to stay away from sausage and pepperoni - try to go for ham and veggie toppings if possible. Try to eliminate cheese from any sandwiches. Remember that most fast food is offering side salads in place of fries now. Try to keep some whey protein drink mix and some skim milk in the house so you can suppliment your meals. It will take some effort, and you can’t have the healthiest of diets from fast food, but with some thought, you can definitely improve your choices. Good luck

What Diet Helped You Lose Weight?

What a great diet help question:

Question: so i just read all this myths and rues about dieting.
can someone please tell me a diet that helped them loose weight,
a day to day detailed description o what you ate etc.
i can only find recipes and what to eat & what not to eat but nothing that tells me or gives me a type of "schedule" list that does in for breakfast lunch snack dinner.
serious answers only! i need to finally lose this weight & feel good in my skin.
Answer: go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don’t eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans.

I Need Help Coming Up with Meal and Snack Plans for My "diet" Has to Be Medium-high Calories and 0-low Carbs?

A diet help question that should definitely interest you all this week

Question: I have a very bad imagination lol, I have no idea what foods are good for what I need and what are bad and I also have a really HARD time figuring out meal plans and snack plans so someone please help me with either a website that provides this info or help me yourself if you have the time

Needs to be within 1200-1500 calories and under 100 carbs, no added sugars.

Maybe there are some good breakfast lunch and dinner ideas from atkins that someone can recommend to me that they ave personally tried and enjoyed?

Also, my goal is total health.

Answer: If your goal is total health, then you don’t want to be eating a semi starvation diet which will force the body to catabolize it’s own lean tissues (including vital organs, like the heart). Females need 2000 calories a day to maintain weight.

Saturated fats (contrary to myths) are healthy & necessary for the body to function.

The first 2 weeks, you can have several cups of salad a day - Bacon, lettuce & a lil tomato with avocado/mayo dressing is my fav. Jicama, cucumber, celery & radish marinated in sesame oil & hot pepper flakes with rice wine vinegar & artificial sweetener. Make a stir fry with Bok Choy, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, celery, mushrooms, shirataki noodles. I love eggs & could eat deviled eggs every day. You can smother omelets & meats with mushrooms, peppers & cheese. Meatzza - Meatloaf with pizza toppings. I like thin sausage patties fried crispy with pizza toppings. Pork rinds & celery sticks are great crunch and can be eaten with dips (avocado/mayo/cayenne) & tuna/chicken/turkey/egg salads. I love my rotisserie & it makes meats tasty. I cook a turkey often & make soup with the bones & turkey salads. I’ll cube up some turkey meat mix in a couple of raw eggs add cheese & broccoli with cayenne powder & nuke 2 minutes for instant meal. Flax seed should be eaten 4T daily even in induction.

Ground flax seed (4 Tbsp) 1/4 cup water, sweetener, mix in a raw egg - let sit 10 min. to absorb liquid, put cream cheese in middle & nuke 2 min for daily fiber needs.

After 2 week, you add 5 grams of carbs per day every week & add greater variety of non starchy vegetables. Change your mindset - adapt what you like to eat to low carb -
replace bread with lettuce
replace pasta with cabbage
replace rice with cauliflower
replace potatoes with brocolli
Cabbage makes a good pasta substitute. Make lasagna with blanched cabbage leaves & thinly fried eggplant instead of noodles. Sugar free pasta sauce over fried cabbage. My fav is chicken cacciatore, I add greens & flaxseed for body & add pizza toppings too. Alfredo sauce is also low carb.

I make a lot of shredded cabbage & mayo or fried cabbage if I’m a bit more ambitious. I fry up bacon & onions & it makes any salad special (BLT) Avocado & turkey - grilled chicken - fajita meat & fried onions is great also. I’ll make a salad with 6 cans: mackerel, baby corn, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, artichoke hearts, sweet red peppers & add mayo & chia seed gel.

Kim Chee is fermented cabbage & one of the healthiest foods. You can make a huge batch & it will sit in refrigerator fine for a long time.

I make huge batches of food & freeze most of it. Go into the forums for recipes - I was shocked that fried "rice" made with grated cauliflower tasted like it’s name sake - faux mashed "taters" made with cauliflower & cream cheese - "potato" salad using cauliflower instead. Shirataki noodles are traditional in Japanese sukiyaki & low carb

Chia seeds sound expensive but 1# will make 10# food - Amazon.com has couple lbs. for $16 shipped to you. I buy mine in bulk for $5# with free shipping at getchia.com

I also order off Amazon - Lowrey’s Pork Rinds 18 for $15 - they pop like popcorn & are portion controlled.

Faux tapioca - 2 cups of water, 5 scoops of low carb whey protein powder, stir together & add cup of chia seeds, after they have started to absorb the water, add in 2 cans of coconut milk (or cream & added water) & artificial sweetener if you like & mix it all in. Cream a pkg. of cream cheese into a can of pumpkin & add for pumpkin pie pudding.

I make a raw porridge out of low carb whey powder & water, I add ground flax seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, coconut milk, tahini (ground sesame seeds) & raw egg. All seeds & nuts are raw & soaked to germinate them.

(berries are lowest glycemic) Cheesecake - strawberry ice cream (frozen berries, cream, a stick blender) - i eat lots of fish for snack (fish "steaks" or mackerel in tins are favs)- olives

What Are Some Good Foods to Eat to Help Lose Weight? Or a Good Diet?

A diet help question that should definitely interest you all this week

Question: Im 18 & weigh about 145 lbs. I have some belly fat & my thighs are ridiculous. I would like to lose some weight to make myself feel better. I eat fast food & drink soda and I know that those are major factors. I’ll try to cut those 2 down. But I need to know what are some foods to eat to help lose weight. Is there anything I could buy at stores? Any help would be nice, please & thank you :) What are some good foods to eat as a snack or something little for when i get that feeling of hunger? EX: yogurt, fruit, cereal..
Answer: It’s very important to have a healthy, well balanced diet. This means having a good mix of whole grains, lean proteins, fruits/veggies, dairy and healthy fats. Below are some examples of foods that fall into those categories. You might consider purchasing some of these at the grocery store.

Whole grains:
-whole grain rice/pastas
-whole wheat bread/sandwich thins (look for 100% whole grain)
-cereals (Kashi is amazing)
-granola bars

Protein
-boneless skinless chicken breasts
-ground turkey or lean ground beef
-canned tuna
-salmon
-eggs
-beans/legumes

Fruits
-apples/bananas/peaches/pears/oranges/berries etc (look for fresh fruits and find out what’s in season so it’s cheaper)
-100% fruit juices
-dried fruits

Vegetables
-brocolli/spinach/carrots/peppers/cucumbers/lettuce/tomato etc
-frozen veggies
-potatos/sweet potatos
-squash

Dairy
-skim milk
-lowfat/fat free yogurt
-cottage cheese
-cheese

Fats
-nuts (raw almonds, peanuts, walnuts, make excellent snacks)
-natural peanut butter
-avocados
-olive oil
-olives

It is defintely important that you try to cut back on soda and fast food (especially the soda, because it’s quite easy to go overboard on that without even realizing it!) As for fast food, it’s better to avoid it, but I know that’s not always possible if you are in a time crunch. Just try to choose healthier options (most chains post nutrition stats online). But one of the most important things is to never deprive yourself of the foods you love! It is ok to treat yourself once in awhile, and any food is ok in moderation as part of a healthy diet. The key is portion size. If you are craving ice cream, go ahead and have it. But stick to just one scoop, not the whole pint. A single scoop will be just enough to satisfy your craving. If you deprive yourself of these foods, you will only be more likely to overindulge later on!

If you are looking for some healthy snacks, here are some good examples of healthy, filling snacks that will give you energy:

-slliced apple and 1T peanut butter
-celery sticks and cottage cheese
-raw crunchy veggies (carrots, celery, etc) and hummus dip
-fat free/low fat yogurt topped with berries and a handful of nuts
-small bowl of cereal and skim or soymilk
-hard boiled egg
-handful of dried fruit/nuts
-slice of wheat toast spread with peanut butter
-string cheese and a piece of fruit

I am really happy that you want to lose weight the healthy way. Once you start eating better, you will feel 100X more energetic! I think you’re going to be really successful, just remember to stick to it! Best of luck.
