I just love answering these diet help questions. Here’s another:
Question: Okay, so I have been really serious about my fitness since September. I started p90 about October after biking everyday for an hour a day. Well, my bike stopped working so now it’s only p90. Well, I only eat 2 times a day, dinner and a snack. I have a weird schedule so it works for me. What my question is, is how can I maintain a healthy calorie intake with the foods my dad buys, which is usually garbage foods like pizza several times a week? He’s really lazy and doesn’t put effort into dinner. How can I go about eating healthier when I have to eat fast take outs when I don’t have an option?
Answer: Many fast food places offer options for grilled chicken now, so try to opt for that over fried. Try to choose things that aren’t fried when possible. If you do have to order fried, try to remove any batter and skin. If your remove the skin and batter from KFC chicken, you will remove most of the oil for example. Choose wheat bread over white when possible. If eating pizza, try to stay away from sausage and pepperoni - try to go for ham and veggie toppings if possible. Try to eliminate cheese from any sandwiches. Remember that most fast food is offering side salads in place of fries now. Try to keep some whey protein drink mix and some skim milk in the house so you can suppliment your meals. It will take some effort, and you can’t have the healthiest of diets from fast food, but with some thought, you can definitely improve your choices. Good luck

A diet help question that should definitely interest you all this week
Question: Last week I only had a shake,two granola bars,Maybe three glasses of orange juice orange juice,a small piece of pizza and water. All last week. That’s not really under the amount of calories I need. It’s not like I just had water. This isn’t the reason why I sometimes don’t eat but I don’t like seeing other people eat or people seeing me eating. I will eat but I just don’t like it at all. I’m not starving my self but I sometimes get this feeling where I want to be under weight. Do you not say no you don’t because that will really piss me off. I know its not a good thing. I am not asking you to give me a lecture about that. And also sometimes I think about suicide. I wish I could just poof away. This is actually quite often. Again I would NEVER commit suicide. NEVER. I know how much it would hurt my family and friends.
I’m 13. If you need information just tell me.
Idea’s Thoughts anything about this would be great.

Don’t say therapy or talk to someone please please please. I am not here for you guys to tell me that. I am already in therapy because of something else. Thank you.
I am not going to take any medication that you guys tell me to either.
Answer: Being thin at 13 is not so bad. But don’t get anorexic. It has something to do with a past event or something. Because it does not happen very often that people don’t like to be seen eating. Or see others eat. In other words it is something in your mind that makes you think this way. When you eat, eat healthy and take vitamins for women. Eat at least one meal a day. If you don’t the organs in your body will start failing.
I’m glad to know you won’t commit suicide. You are young. Go out, have fun. Go buy something you like. too young to be thinking like that.
What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…
Question: I want to lose fat but gain muscle mass at the same time. I am 19 5′9 190 pounds. I am in a boxing class every tuesday, thursday, and saturday. I play pick up basketball for about 2 hours the rest of the days except the weekend. I have tried moderating my fast food intake but still no luck. I try to eat home cooked meals every day, including home made vegan pizza (not as good as regular but …) and an occasional philly cheese steak from subway!
Answer: You seem to be on the right road! Moderating fast foods intake and trying to make your own meals in order to better control what you’re eating is good, as well as doing a regular physical activity. Just keep on going this way and try to eat healthy as much as you can. Here are some simply rules I use to follow in my daily life to keep my weight under control and stay healthy. I hope you’ll find them helpful:
- eat white meats (chicken, turkey) more than red meats: they have the same nutritional values but are less fatty;
- eat plenty of fish;
- use olive oil as your preferred fat: it is extremely digestible and helps you in the digestion of other fats;
- subdivide daily food intake into 4-5 sittings: it will be easier to digest foods more efficiently;
- include in your diet all-in-one-meals like pasta with vegetables or pasta with beans: they are quick to prepare and provide you with the same nutrients as a three-course meal, being also lower in calories.
