Need Some Dieting Help..?

A tough diet help question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: I need to go on a diet but ive been on a few before but i always get fed up after a month or so! Anyways ways to motivate myself to keep going? And any other techniques i could use? What diets are you guys on?:)
Answer: I’m trying to lose weight myself :)
I’m not on any fad diets I find that they make me feel that i’m depriving myself.
Just eating healthy and adding more fruit and veg to your diet. Lean meats like chicken and complex carbs too.. Which is like brown rice, wholemeal bread and potatoes. Try scrambled eggs and a slice of toast for breakfast. Doesn’t sound much be you’ll be surprised how much it fills a whole.

Try light exercise first, like walking, that kept me motivated. If you over do it, it then it becomes a chore and in turn you’ll get bored. lol.
After then try other exercises, like jogging or swimming!

Do Anorexia Diets Work? Please Help, I Need to Loose Weight Fast.?

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of diet help. Let’s take a look:

Question: Okay. So at the moment I’m nearly 5ft 2, weigh 8 stone 9 (I’m 14) and I want to loose weight really really fast. I’ve heard about all these girls with anorexia (And in NO WAY am I supporting what they do to their bodies, they’re too thin) But I’m getting desperate to loose weight. I know that anorexia is dangerous and it can kill you blah blah blah but it’s obvious that these methods work so should I try them?

I just feel so ugly and disgusting. I’m a dancer and all the other girls just looks so perfect and I’m just short and tubby and round. My mum tells me not to loose weight, and that I’m getting too thin but I just want to lose a stone or two and I’ll stop. I lost nearly 2 stone in 5 weeks and I’m not sure if that’s alright but it feels too slow. So any advice,tips or good pro-ana sites or people to talk to? Thanks , Becca x x

Answer: Sure - if you can stand not to eat. You lose weight pretty well on a modified fast.

Let’s say you had two or three hard boiled eggs a day - and lots of water and nothing else. Eggs are the best protein you can get - but the amount of food is so tiny that you’d be ‘fasting’ actually.

If you can stand it, it would work great, and I doubt you’d drop dead from starvation.

Can Someone Help Me Make a Diet Plan?

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of diet help. Let’s take a look:

Question: Well I’m 17 (male, 5′8, 215lbs)

Ive been big since 2 grade and I always say during the summer I would go on a diet but never do, I always say I’ll start next week and never happens. Most of my weight is in my torso, thats my main area of concern. My arms and legs have fat on them but thats not the major problem for me. I want to loose maybe 30-50lbs within 6months. The thing is I dont really know anything about diets and exercise, I have looked things up but do not really understand.

So… can someone tell me how I should start to do this.
(What to eat, how much, when. Workout when, doing what, for how long)

I go to school from 7:30-3:00 so I cant do anything during that time….
Then I work 5 days a week at a fast food place, doesnt help. (about 30hrs a wk)

My main concern though is when I’m at school my stomach always growls really loud at certain times so I make myself eat a lot in the morning. If I’m at home or at work and dont eat my stomach doesnt growl, only at school.

I have equipment to do normal weight lifting and a treadmill, I can buy my own food and vitamins.

I really just need to know how I should do everything, any advice is wanted.

Answer: eat 6 smalller meals a day. Healthy non- greasy foods that are good calories. Loosing weight is like a mathematical formula. If the amount of calories you take in is greater than the amount you burn, you gain weight. if you are burning more than you take in you loose weight. So this is what you should do. Wake up, have breakfest (eggs, toast, no eggos,toaster strudals, bacon or read meat), bring a granola bar to school and have that as your snack around 4 hours after breakfest, then eat lunch, ( lean meats, healthy food, salad), then when you get home have another snack about 3/4 hours after lunch, then if you can work out for about an hour or so ( if you are concentrainting on loosing weight and not really gaining any muscle then do an hour of cardio, if you want to turn your fat into muscle like i would, lift hard for an hour or so. Lifing burns almost as many calories as cardio) then eat dinner (again healthy foods) then have a snack a couple hours before bed. Dieting is 85% of how you loose weight. you could run your life away but if you eat 5 big macs everyday then your still going to stay the same. Look up a good diet plan and stick to it. you will loose weight faster than you think.

I Need to Loose Weight & Tone My Body, Dieting Routine? HELP?

Question: my sweet 16 is august 25th. i am currently a size 7/8 in dresses & unfortunately my dress came in a 6 and a 6 only! so i bought it hoping i would loose weight and every time i tried i didn’t loose weight!

Right now im about 5′6 and 150 pounds but i don’t look it . The problem with dieting is im allergic to ALL fruits, all nuts, and most seeds. so theres alot of diets i cant try.

also im a competitive cheerleader so i need to tone muscle in my arms for the upcoming season!

im trying to do this the most healthy way possible but PLEASE help me if you can
work out routines
food options anything!

Answer: are you really allergic to them? because if so, you really need to see your doctor because you will be deficient in almost all vitamins and minerals, which will harm your body and make you look unhealthy.
if you can eat vegetables, eat ALOT. peppers, lettuce, carrots, rocket etc.
this is very important. also, cut out alot of the sugary things, as these cause insulin spikes which make you put on weight. drink alot of water, and cut back on carbohydrates, just a little bit, and if you are eating brad or rice, try eating brown bread and brown rice. alot healthier and will affect your weight.
you should eat 5 or 6 small meals a day, evenly spread out, instead of 3 big ones, as this will raise your metabolism and burn off mroe calories.
since your a girl, you should just do some cardio. i recommend interval training (look it up) as its alot more effective than normal boring cardio, and takes less time!

do these two things, and youll lose the weight in no time!

Diet Help Please!!!!=)?

A diet help question that should definitely interest you all this week

Question: o.k i’ m really overweight!!!! i’ m 5′7 and i weigh about 72kg! and i’ m really worried.and i’ ve asked for help regarding diets and exercise but of no help.so i want to ask again.please tell me something i can follow.and please don’t give me any high profile veggies and fruits because i don’t get them here.i want something reasonable yet working.regarding exercise please tell me something which i could do at home.and regarding diets please tell me something that doesn’t involve starving since im a student i do need nutrition.please keep all these things in mind and answer.god bless.
Answer: When I diet I eat 3 meals per day and 3 fruit snacks (morning tea, afternoon tea, and after dinner).

The meals consist of this:

Porridge for breakfast
Apple for morning tea
Salad sandwich for lunch
Mandarine for arvo tea
Lean chicken (or beef, lamb, fish etc) with steamed vegies for dinner and no carbs like potato or hot chips.
Orange for supper.

I drink water and cups of tea during the day with 1 no added sugar juice for breakfast.

I walk every day either 30 mins outside or 20 mins fast on my treadmill. I aim for 2 - 2.5km per session.

The aim is to completely cut out junk food and to keep up the excercise. The weight should drip off you.

I diet on and off, just went back to this last week and lost 1kg in the week. I’m very happy :)

I Want to Diet Please Somebody Help …?

Answer: Eat 1200 calories a day with 30 minutes of exercise everyday!
drink lots of water
avoid junk food and fast food
and you will lose weight :)

Are There Any Diets That Help You GAIN Weight and RAISE Blood Sugar?

What a great diet help question:

Question: I’m eighteen years old, I’m 5′6" tall, I’m fit, and I eat like a pig. But for some reason, the more I eat, the more weight I seem to loose. I’m under 105 lbs! On top of that, I have low blood sugar. No matter what, I can’t seem to keep up the blood sugar or keep on the weight. People tell me I’m so lucky and whatnot, but my skin feels too tight, I loose energy too quickly, and I’m just so boney! I’m insecure about my body because my bones show through, and I don’t like it! I look like a skeleton! I know I CAN gain weight, because at one point I got up to 115 lbs and kept it on for a whole year! I felt so good about myself! I wasn’t chunky, but I had an endless supply of energy, and I felt so pretty! However, I wasn’t eating healthy. So I switched to a healthier diet. I dropped several pounds and am slowly gaining it back, but it’s going to slow, and I just don’t feel like eating all this non junk food…I want to be healthy! Is that too much to ask?

However, all the diets advertized on TV are for LOOSING weight and LOWERING blood sugar. That’s just the opposite of what I need! Does anyone have any tips to help me?

Answer: I can relate, when I was your age I was 5′10 and weighed only 120 pounds.

There’s a chance that you may have a mild metabolic disorder, such as an imbalance in your thyroid gland, or some other system in your body that regulates your metabolism. You might want to consider going to a doctor and getting some tests. But don’t worry too much…doctors and medical tests can sometimes cause people stress and that’s the last thing you want. You may want to try a few other things first.

Are you on any medications that could cause this problem as a side-effect? I’d look at that first. If you’re not, then proceed:

A few tips I can think of. It could be that your body is not absorbing the full nutritional value when you eat. Try these tips to ensure you absorb more of the nutrients:

* Eat slowly.
* Eat with people whenever possible–ideally people that you like and are comfortable with.
* When you are eating, focus on how your food tastes. Try to seek out foods that taste good to you.

Also, another thing that will probably help you regardless of what situation you’re in is to eat many different types of foods. If you eat one kind of fruit one time, eat a different fruit the next time.

Try eating some healthy high-calorie and high-protein foods. Fatty fish is high in protein and healthy fat. Avocados and nuts and olive oil are loaded with healthy fats. Whole grain breads are rich in protein and carbohydrates. Eating healthy doesn’t mean eating low-calorie. =)

Lastly, are you very stressed? Being stressed can make you burn more calories, in some cases, and it can also make you less likely to absorb nutrients from your food. Try doing more relaxing things on a daily basis, and keeping on top of stuff in your life so you can keep your stress level low.
