I Need Help with My Diet and Excercise?

Another diet help question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: I 11 and a little chubby so I want to start eating better and excercising. Can you help me, I want to to look good next year for school?
Answer: Try this out:

Goal: Aim to lose 1 - 2 pounds a week. If you try to lose more than two pounds, you may be losing weight too fast, which commonly leads to gaining back all the weight that was lost, plus more.

Exercise: If you have access to a gym, try out the elliptical machine and/or treadmill. If you are able to, run or jog a mile each day for about 3 to 5 days a week. If a mile is a bit too much, start out with half a mile, or even less; whatever you feel comfortable with! Gradually increase your distance (and your speed if you prefer). However, if you don’t have access to a gym, try running around your block. The best time to exercise is within an hour of waking up in the morning. The reason? You burn more calories after a workout than if you had just been sitting on a couch; so exercising in the morning will allow you to burn more calories throughout the day, even long after you’re done with your workout! Make sure not to hit the snooze button on your alarm clock too many times!

Diet: Eat 5 to 6 small meals a day: breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, and if you need to eat more, have an evening snack. PORTION CONTROL IS KEY. If you are able to, prepare each meal ahead of time so that when it comes to eating a meal, you don’t overdo it. Try eating somewhere away from the kitchen so you’re less likely to go back for seconds or thirds. Eat your last meal/snack no later than 6:30 - 7:00 p.m., and try not to eat anything for the rest of the night, or at least don’t eat anything 3 hours prior to going to bed. Only drink water as your main beverage, and make sure to drink lots of it (it has been proven to speed up your metabolism)! Eat PLENTY of fruits and vegetables. They’re low-cal, so in this case, more is better than less.

The first couple of days of this diet may seem tough, but trust me, soon it will become a habit! Also, this is a good diet that will help you lose weight, and then maintain your new lower weight for life, and never go back to the way you used to be. Good luck!

Bunnie Diet Please Help?!?

Another diet help question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: Bunnies diet please help!?

I got two lionhead bunnies yesterday. I want to know foods that you can keep inside their cage all the time. Foods that can be as a snack like 1-2 times Max a week. Foods that should be avoided at all times. Thanks

Answer: Rabbits need a diet that is very high in fiber and foliage(like hay.To prevent GI stasis(Hair ball obstruction and over grown molars.Rabbits need to have loose timothy hay grass available 24/7!Other high fiber grasses that can be fed as a substitute for timothy hay is Orchard grass, oat hay,or a mix of both called meadow mix.Alfalfa grass which is also available at pet shops is too high in calcium for adult bunnies so its only recommended as an occasional treat.Timothy hay should be replenish daily and any dried, yellow, or moldy hay should be discarded daily.Timothy hay and dry grasses should make up 80% of a rabbits diet!

Vegetables and herbs are also important to be feed daily
Only in limited amounts.I personally feed my adults a hand full of veggies each daily.

Veggies and herbs
Arugula
Asparagus
Basil
(Fresh)Bay leaf
Broccoli(may cause gas if fed in high amounts
Bell peppers(Red,yellow,green
Beet greens(Only the greens(No beet root
Cilantro
Chicory
Celery(Remove fibers)
Collard greens
Carrot tops(One top for adults Too high in calcium for adults
Chard(Swiss chard
Escarole
Fennel
Mint(pepper mint or spear mint LEAVES
Parsley(cilantro and parsley are both related so feeding both at the same time will not supply him with a variety
parsnips
Oregano(fresh
Thyme
Rosemary
Spinach(Small amounts for adults too high in calcium
Sage
Water cress
Zucchini

I recommend feeding three different types of veggies daily.

Veggies/food to avoid
Yucca
potato
Cali flower
Cabbage
Ice berg lettuce
Avocado
Corn
Tomato
Fruit seeds
Seeds
Beets
Onions/garlic/chives
Cucumber
Butter cup flowers
Oak leaves
Raw kidney beans
Maple leaves
Horse reeds
plum leaves and wood
Daisy

Rabbits should not be fed high amounts sweet treats and fruits.Treats should only make 20% of a bunnies diet(Two table spoon fulls of treats daily.Treats that can be offered
are
Alfalfa sprouts
Apple slice(No seeds
Raisins
Raspberries
Dried Cranberries
Cranberries
Cantaloupe
Cherries(no seeds nor leaves/stem
Carrot pieces(never feed a whole carrot to a rabbit
Grapes
Pear fruit(No seeds
Plum no seeds
Papaya (No seeds
Pine apple
Star fruit
Melon
Water melon(no seeds
Make good treats

Treats like yogurt drops are my rabbits favorite but are not good for them and should be limited to 1 to 2 drops every two days.

HOW TO STAY ON A DIET DURING VACATION???? HELP!!?

A tough diet help question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: okay so i have recently lost almost 50 pounds :D
but i still have to lose 10-20 more to be at a weight that i am comfortable at.
i was planning on losing the rest of the weight during the remainder of the summer, but i just found out the im going to florida for a month on vacation to visit my family and stuff.

so, how can i not only not gain any weight back during this month, but also lose more while im there?!

please help!!!! thanks (:

Answer: Have motivation. I was looking through someone’s Tumblr and I saw their weight loss motivation section.

She said her boyfriend was ashamed to be with her and her brother told her she was fat so therefore she was ‘ugly’.. her bf was saying he only attracted ugly fat girls. Then she lost 60 pounds and they were so proud of her!

idk, that makes me want to lose weight (I wanna get to 95-.- but I’m excessively short)

Portion control. Yes, eat healthy, but what really helps!! (and this helps me a lot!) is eating smaller bits of food each meal. Eventually you get fuller quicker because you are used to less food. This makes it easier to keep off weight you lose. It becomes a habit.

Yup, exercise. Not too much, just maybe 45 minutes. Even cleaning the house (or wherever you’re staying, hotel maybe) everyday can add up, depending on how big it is. Maybe you’ll go to Disneyland? Lotsa walking. Go to the mall every once in a while. You don’t have to buy anything. But it’s fun to just walk around.

Hope I helped..:)

Trying to Create a New Diet, Can You Help?

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of diet help. Let’s take a look:

Question: I’ve lost 80lbs recently, and would like to lose about 20-30 more. I had this idea for a diet, where you can eat as much fruit and veggies as you want, only two meat products a day, and only carbs at dinner. As well as working out, do you think this diet would be successful?
Answer: first of all congratulations!! fabulous results!

now, carbs for dinner doesnt sound like a good idea..

id suggest greek yogurt with fruit - salad with tuna or boiled eggs - a bit of protein with salad but im sure since you lost this weight you definitely know how to work magic!

good luck :)

Question About Diet and P90x+insanity. Help!?

A diet help question that should definitely interest you all this week

Question: I just finished week 1 of my p90x+insanity schedule. I had plyometric cardio circuit today. Tomorrow is my rest day or x stretch. Today I ate a big bag of hot cheetos. First cheat meal for the program, planning not to have anymore. Tomorrow, can I do kenpo x or cardio x to try and burn the chips off? I don’t have kenpo x or cardio x in my schedule. Would I be burning off the chips if I did kenpox/x stretch or cardio x/x stretch?

Which do you prefer? Should I just rest and keep going? I plan not to have these cheat meals anymore. Instead, stack up on apples. I love apples.

Just need some insight, tips, HELP, on this. Thanks!

Answer: You also burn 720 calories for just sleeping. Especially with that workout is a high cardio exercise don’t worry about a 240 calories 1 day bag of chips….

Help! How is My Diet So Far Today? For Breakfast, I Had a 3 Inch Subway Eggwhite Sandwich on Flatbread And?

What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: coffee. For lunch, I had hot tea with lemon. So, how am I doing so far The sandwich also had veggies, but NO meat. I am a vegetarian.
Answer: You need to actually eat something for lunch. Don’t just have tea. You are going to get a lot of people on here telling you different ways to diet but to be honest, make sure your body is getting nutrition or you will be starving yourself and that’s not healthy at all. Try to eat healthy and live an active lifestyle.

I Need Help Staying Motivated on My Diet?

What’s this week’s diet help question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: Any tips? I’m 14.

To keep me motivated I have made/done:
-collage of my fave celebs and how in shape they are
-rules for me to follow
-a diary type thing to write about how i think i did each day

what else can i do?

Answer: Okay, first of all, Miss Elly Bee, what is your BMI and why are you trying to lose weight?

If you are legitimately overweight and need to shed some pounds, talk to your mom, doctor, P.E. Teacher, coach, etc to make sure your diet plan is healthy, effective, and attainable for a young teenage girl. All of the afore-mentioned people, as well as friends, cousins, siblings, etc can help motivate you to stay on track. You can tell the people Around you something like, "hey, I’m on a diet, so keep the twinkies away from me!" also, you can assign your best friend or someone to check on your progress every day. If you keep in mind that you’ll have to report to somebody that you ate a handful of mini marshmallows, you’ll be less likely to do it, you know?

Another thing about friends is that they make for great exercise buddies :) call up your girlfriends and be like "let’s go for a walk" so you can be social AND burn calories! Dancing is good, too. Hook up your iPod when no ones watching (or even better, get your friends/sisters/cousins, etc together for an epic karaoke dance-off party).

If you’re already skinny but you want to make the runway models cry in shame, that’s really not a good idea. Being healthy is one thing, being obsessive is outright dangerous. Talk to an adult before you jump into a serious diet, diets arent something you should just throw around loosely. Your diet should include a good amount of vegetables and vitamin-rich foods. Remember, little Elly Bee that you are just fourteen years old and you still have some growing up to do, don’t waste your youth trying to look like celebs that are years and years older than you! Who are also airbrushed, heavily made-up, wearing hundreds of dollars in clothes, photoshopped to look thinner, taller, curvier, smoother, natural-er….

Good luck & peace!! <3
