Question: The email is Esmeralda but that’s my sister I use her email alot
Answer: If you want to lose weight safely, you should eat more healthy foods and cut all your sweets and fats. You don’t have to have an extreme diet. Just cut out the fast foods and don’t let anyone talk you into eating when you shouldn’t. At 14 yrs, you will gain height and can maintain weight by controlling your food intake. To do it safely and sanely, cut your calorie intake by 3500 calories a week coupled by exercises you like. I’d suggest swimming as it use all the body muscles and trims and tones your whole body. You’ll get slimmer and trimmer with an hour every day or every other day. Doing this can lose 2-3 lbs a week along with the diet. If you must eat sweets save a day for "extra goodies". Good luck and eat healthy.

Need Some Dieting Help..?

A tough diet help question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: I need to go on a diet but ive been on a few before but i always get fed up after a month or so! Anyways ways to motivate myself to keep going? And any other techniques i could use? What diets are you guys on?:)
Answer: I’m trying to lose weight myself :)
I’m not on any fad diets I find that they make me feel that i’m depriving myself.
Just eating healthy and adding more fruit and veg to your diet. Lean meats like chicken and complex carbs too.. Which is like brown rice, wholemeal bread and potatoes. Try scrambled eggs and a slice of toast for breakfast. Doesn’t sound much be you’ll be surprised how much it fills a whole.

Try light exercise first, like walking, that kept me motivated. If you over do it, it then it becomes a chore and in turn you’ll get bored. lol.
After then try other exercises, like jogging or swimming!

Diet and Eating Please Help!?

We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of diet help. Let’s take a look:

Question: So I recently found out that my girlfriend (who I’ve been with for 4 months) only eats 600 calories a day or less during the school year (high school so about 8 months) and I’ve done a little research a and (even without any) I know that less than 1000 calories a day is not healthy and actually isn’t the best way to lose weight. i don’t know how much she actually weighs (never asked) but it can’t be over 150 or below 125 so theres a general range. From what I’ve read it slows your metabolism and can cause a variety of other problems. I’m not sure but I think this is a low case of anorexia which worries me a lot because I care about her a ton (we’ve been friends for over a year before we got together too). I’ve tried telling her that there are better ways and that she already looks great the way she is but she doesn’t seem to think so and she says she just can’t help but count calories and she feels awful when she exceeds her limit. Anyway I was just wondering if anyone had any more information in this subject or had some ideas of ways to show her that she doesn’t need to do this and that shes great the way she is. thanks and I hope this doesn’t sound like a rant…
Answer: as someone who has been through an eating disorder myself, i feel your pain. i went two years before i was finally hospitalized at a pretty normal weight, but still with ‘disordered eating’ and problems with food.
even this day, i count calories everyday and barely eat over 100kcal a day, but i still maintain my weight in the ‘normal’ weigh range.

girls often do go through ‘phases’ of disordered eating, especially when there is so much pressure to be thin in the media.
all i can say is keep a close eye on her. if you really care about her, you could talk to her family, thats all i can really suggest and then take it from there….

Question: My wife is expecting our first baby (had two misses already) and i wanna get her this….she is from the States and is really hard for her so it may be just a little thing but i realllllllllly wanna get her some of this.

Answer: @Pooka Fish - caffeine in moderation does NOT cause miscarriage and soda isnt going to either. It’s okay to have in moderation. I know lots of women (myself included) who drank soda during pregnancy & had healthy pregnancies and babies. But like everyone else said, diet soda isn’t the best thing to put in ur body during pregnancy but I dont think one every once in awhile will hurt!

OP - maybe u could call around at different stores? They should have them somewhere! Good luck!

I Need Some Help With A Diet and Exercise. Please Help?

This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:

Question: I’m looking to get in shape in the next 6 months. I’m 20 years old, 6′3" at 200lbs. I’m looking to get back into Crossfit and Muay Thai. I also plan to run everyday. Morning runs. At least 3 miles a day. I have my workout scheduled and planned out. It goes as followed:
Monday: AM Run, PM Muay Thai
Tuesday: AM Run, PM Crossfit
Wednesday: AM Run, PM Muay Thai
Thursday: AM Run, PM Crossfit
Friday: AM Run, PM Muay Thai
Saturday: AM Run, PM Crossfit
Sunday: Weight Training (For muscle mass)
What I need now is the diet. What combination of foods do I need in order to gain muscle and look leaner? Can someone help me?!
Answer: Damn dude your already massive, for diet i’d try bulking and cutting later when you want to get rid of some bodyfat. Eat 500 calories more than your maintenance (which is usually around 2000-2200) keep your protein high and eat moderate carbs and some fat here and there too. I suggest chicken breast and whey protein with milk for your protein intake, it’s the cheapest most convenient option but it’s really up to you. Some healthy fats to snack on would be almonds avocados that kind of thing. And for carbs i’d recomend potatoes spaghetti oatmeal rice etc. Check out swole.me its a site that makes a diet for you, it’s not perfect but I think it’s a good start and than you can modify that diet to how you see appropriate.

13 Year Olds Health?! Help Exercise, and Diet!!?

What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: So I recently came back from a cruise and before I left ; I weighed 100 pounds now 111!! insane ; The cruise was nine days , and spend 5 days on a hotel so it was two weeks
So today I eat
Breakfeast :an apple
Lunch : (small) smoothie.. , the smoothie had fruit and Low fat yogurt thats it!
Dinner : not sture yeat . maby a small bowl of honey nut cheerios
I am also 5 feet tall.. so do you think what I am eating is o.k or too much or too little or bad

also Hom much exercise , I go on my tradmill and am thinking of doing an hour , what do you think of my diet and exercise , or how much should I exercise a day?

Answer: you should actually eat more than you are. that’s not enough. you’re body will go into starvation mode and hold on to all the fat it can. believe me, i’ve been there and done that. i read on the internet that you’re body will do that and i thought that it didn’t make any sense really so i kinda starved myself and i actually gained weight! not good!
just eat a good breakfast lunch and dinner and have 2 healthy snacks.
drink lots of water too!

and btw, you’re not fat at all! :D

Help! I Need to Go on a Diet.?

I just love answering these diet help questions. Here’s another:

Question: Im quite slim, and i like my body >,<
But I eat like a pig! I could eat like 10 chocolate bars everyday, loads of crisps. I also eat big dinners! I eat sooo much, but im really slim.
My friends always say im the one who eats like a pig, but is really skinny.
Even when ive eat loads, i usually still feel hungry!? :\
Is is okay to eat loads? and be skinny now.
Will i be skinny when im older or will i put on alot of weight-.-
is this healthy or not?

Answer: I have no idea if your going to stay slim, or put on some weight.
To be honest, just eat what you like. If you feel hungry, then eat..
if you see your starting to put on abit of weight maybe cut down on the unhealthy foods?
But then again, if your quite slim, gaining alittle bit more weight isn’t that bad?
Im not sure, but neither is no one else-.-
Its your body, and no one can predict what its gonna do
maybe you’ll put on weight, maybe you woant:)
You’lll just have to wait and find out :D
Just cut down on the chocolate barrs!!!

I Need to Go on a Diet for Cheerleading, Please Help?

Question: I’m a flyer or a top. I need to get thinner, and eat better, I need help knowing how to diet right, Since usually I just wouldn’t eat when I was younger and I became anorexic and belimic… I want to eat healthy and be a better flyer because I’d be thinner and easier to lift so help. Please.

Answer: drink water instead of coke n other soft drinks
work out evry day if possible like do wii fit if you own the game
eat more fruits *trust me it helps instead of sugary snacks
eat with your non dominant hand (ik it sounds crazy but it works!!) its because eating slow makes you digest your food faster and it doesnt become fat!! soo eat slow!! and chew more!! kk? hope this helped!!

if u hav money try sensa!! my neighbor did and it worked for her…

Help Me Include More Veggies in My Diet and Help Me Make Them Taste Good Healthily?

Question: i only eat 0-2 servings of vegtables day. its hard for me to consume more for some reason cuz well i dont know how to and i dont know how to make them taste good. i dont know how to make good salads. i dont know anything about getting a healthy dressing and i dont know if i should worry about adding extra calories. like, 3/4 cup of brocilli of and cauliflour is 3o calories. 4 serving of this is already 120 calories. i would have to cut something else out right? help
Answer: Try them lightly steamed, and experiment with seasonings! Or saute them in garlic!

How Can I Go on a Diet That is Promised to Help Me Lose Weight?

What a great diet help question:

Question: I need to lose this weight
Answer: COUNT CALORIES and do NOT eat carbs (bread, pasta, rice, cereal).
Eat mostly vegetables and greens, 1-2 fruits a day, lean protein throughout the day, pinch of sea salt (can add it to your salads), and healthy oils in moderation (healthy oils: olive oil, coconut oil, sesame oil, flaxseed oil, nuts, avocados). you do NEED some healthy oils in your diet to stay healthy, but just eat it in moderation because it is high in calories… do NOT eat junk food, carbs, sugar, artificial sweeteners, or anything else unhealthy - sweeten things with stevia if you have a sweet-tooth.
