Answer: okay, to get into shape , speed up your metabolism, rid yourself of excess toxins in your blood or fat to lose weight ,,,,,do as follows:

Stop drinking & smoking (if you do this regularly)
eat fruits & vegetables all you can (buy a food/rice steamer to make it easy on you)…(vegetables might not seem "tasty", like junk foods, at first,,, but can be as you aquire your taste to them..and are loaded with energy and nutrients)…avoid all junk food, cokes, sweets, etc…and drink water . If you eat meat ,,use only steamed, baking or grilled methods for preparing fish or chicken.

also, do an hour of walking each day at least. or some type of excercise.

* you should lose about 10 lbs per month

What Am I Missing out On?(diet) HELP:)?

This week’s question is as follows:

Question: Yesterday I had a nutty breakfast bar and a cup of tea, for breakfast.
At dinner, I had one slice of toast and a drinking activia yoghurt with blackcurrant cordial
For tea, I had vegetable quorn lasagne and a glass of water.
Any drinks or snacks beside that were just water, an apple and carrots in humus :)

So far today I’ve had a slice of toast, an active yoghurt and two cookies with a glass of milk and a cup of tea. I won’t eat now until tea.

What am I missing out on (I usually eat lots of eggs for protein, as I’m a vegetarian and I take Iron&vitamin tablets daily)
Thanks for help

Answer: At a glance, your diet lacks fruits and vegetables - instead of a breakfast bar - you could try say a whole wheat wrap filled with lettuce, peppers, half a tomato and a sprinkle of feta cheese..and can alternate with a fruit bowl on another morning, a 3rd option is maybe an english muffin with a bit of jam.It appears that you’re not eating enough calories - too few calories can be just as bad as eating too much. To estimate your calorie intake, take your target weight and multiply by 10 (say you wanna be 140 - your target intake should be 1400 calories for the day)..while I’m not an expert..but I will still share my experience of great results when I started eating for my blood type - aside from balancing carbs, proteins and veggies, I learnt that there were several foods that didnt react very well to my blood type, causing my metabolism to slow down.
As soon as I started eating right, my energy level sky rocketed, and I started losing around 2lbs per week. Of course, you need to exercise too - at least 45 mins a day of intervals, about 5 - 6 times per week.
In the end I lost 50lbs in 6 months, but it wasnt a diet per say, but a change in eating patterns and lifestyle - more water, little or no junk… trust me…dont fad diet…eat clean and exercise and you wont regret it! and DONT skip breakfast!!
Good luck :)

Insanity Food Diet? Help Best Answer 10 Points?

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: Hi I’m 15 5′5 & weight 115 lbs. I’m on my second week of insanity day 3 :D but I know I won’t see results without diet. I want to burn the body fat I have to get a 6 pack, what types of food should I eat throughout the day? I am trying my best to only drink water, milk, or juice. No soda or gatorade because of the sugar.
Answer: 1. Base your meals on starchy foods. Starchy foods include potatoes, cereals, pasta, rice and bread. Choose wholegrain varieties when you can: they contain more fibre, and can make you feel full for longer. Starchy foods should make up around one third of the foods you eat.
Most of us should eat more starchy foods: try to include at least one starchy food with each main meal. Some people think starchy foods are fattening, but gram for gram they contain fewer than half the calories of fat.

2. Eat lots of fruit and veg

Itâ??s recommended that we eat at least five portions of different types of fruit and veg a day. Itâ??s easier than it sounds. A glass of 100% unsweetened fruit juice can count as one portion, and vegetables cooked into dishes also count. Why not chop a banana over your breakfast cereal, or also as a snack for some dried fruit and even nuts which is good

3. Eat more fish

Fish is a good source of protein and contains many vitamins and minerals. Aim for at least two portions a week, including at least one portion of oily fish. Oily fish is high in omega-3 fats, which may help to prevent heart disease. You can choose from fresh, frozen and canned; but remember that canned and smoked fish can be high in salt. Oily fish include salmon, mackerel, trout, herring, fresh tuna, sardines and pilchards. Non-oily fish include haddock, plaice, coley, cod, tinned tuna, skate and hake. Anyone who regularly eats a lot of fish should try to choose as wide a variety as possible.

4. Cut down on saturated fat and sugar

We all need some fat in our diet. But itâ??s important to pay attention to the type of fat weâ??re eating. There are two main types of fat: saturated and unsaturated. Too much saturated fat can increase the amount of cholesterol in the blood, which increases your risk of developing heart disease. Saturated fat is found in many foods, such as cakes, pies, biscuits, sausages, cream, butter, lard and hard cheese. Try to cut down, and choose foods that contain unsaturated rather than saturated fats, such as vegetable oils, oily fish and avocados. Learn more, and get tips on cutting down, in Eat less saturated fat.

Sugary foods and drinks are often high in calories, and could contribute to weight gain. They can also cause tooth decay, especially if eaten between meals. Cut down on sugary fizzy drinks, cakes, biscuits and pastries, which contain added sugars: this is the kind of sugar we should be cutting down on rather than sugars that are found naturally in foods such as fruit and milk. Food labels can help: use them to check how much sugar foods contain. More than 15g of sugar per 100g means that the food is high in sugar

5. Eat less salt

Even if you donâ??t add salt to your food, you may still be eating too much. About three-quarters of the salt we eat is already in the food we buy, such as breakfast cereals, soups, breads and sauces. Eating too much salt can raise your blood pressure. People with high blood pressure are more likely to develop heart disease or have a stroke. Use food labels to help you cut down. More than 1.5g of salt per 100g means the food is high in salt. Adults and children over 11 should eat no more than 6g of salt a day.

6. Drink plenty of water

Try to drink about six to eight glasses of water (or other fluids) a day to prevent dehydration. When the weather is warm or when we get active, we may need more. But avoid soft and fizzy drinks that are high in added sugars.
Remember: When thinking about alcohol, there is nothing wrong with the occasional drink, but drinking too much can cause serious health problems. Alcohol is also high in calories, so cutting down could help you to control your weight.

7. Donâ??t skip breakfast

Some people skip breakfast because they think it will help them lose weight. In fact, research shows that eating breakfast can help people control their weight. A healthy breakfast is an important part of a balanced diet, and provides some of the vitamins and minerals we need for good health. Wholemeal cereal, with fruit sliced over the top is a tasty and nutritious breakfast or even flax seeds.

Hope this helps.

7 to 8 Wk Old Kitten, Diet Help!?

What’s this week’s diet help question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: So he is 7 to 8 wks old and I have cat milk wet food and dry kitten food.
What is the best way to feed him? Which food or if a mixture what mixture? How often? Should he be drinking water as well? Help please!!
Answer: My kittens loved kitten dry food when they were that age. They honestly would not eat wet food until they were about 6 months old. They would only lick the gravy but not eat the meaty stuff. Try half a cup of kitten kibble in the morning (or half a can of kitten wet food) and then the same around dinner time.

Exercise and Diet Help?

Another diet help question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: Hello, ok so I’m working out by doing swimming, jogging and cycling. oh and sit ups and press ups. I’m eating rather healthily, there are a few things I can cut down on, mo problem. The problem is that I don’t seem to be losing any weight. Any suggestions? Thank you.
Answer: How about just eating the right foods like oatmeal, blueberries, strawberries, apples, Fage Total 0% greek plain yogurt, whole wheat pita bread, protein shake, protein bar, brown rice, chicken, fish, egg whites, beans (low in sodium) veggies, Total 100% cereal, almond milk (unsweetened), dried fruits, almonds…

You will need to eat 5-6 SMALL meals a day and 8-12 glasses of water a day. Also, you want to exercise. You can exercise monday-thursday doing 2 days of cardio and 2 days of weight training. Also, work on ur abs and do 8 minute abs video on youtube. You can work your abs on a daily basis. In those 5-6 meals you can have a protein shake and a protein bar or just 2 protein shakes a day. I recommend for the protein shake: EAS, Elite or Champion, and for the protein bar: Power Crunch Bar or EAS with 28g of protein and 1-2g of sugar. If you are going to do the protein bar and the shake I recommend you drink the protein shake after your workout and eat the protein bar at night. Good luck.

I Just Had a Cookie (300 Calories Probably) on a Diet! HELP?

What a great diet help question:

Question: I have been so good for the past 3 weeks and have lost so much weight but I have just eaten a cookie with macadamia nuts and white chocolate! Ive just ruined everything on my diet!! AHHHH help! What exercises should I do at home to burn at least 300 calories? I can’t go out because it is raining so much and I am at home alone so I cant go to the gym. Any Suggestions?

Also what should I have for dinner to lose weight tonight?

Thanks
Ashley

Answer: Eating one cookie will not stop your weight loss, trust me. A whole BOX of them, yes. But not one single cookie. Your body burns calories even when you’re sitting on the couch watching television so you don’t have to worry very much.

However, if you want to exercise but can’t go outside and don’t have a video game that uses exercises (Dance Dance Reolution or Wii fit or anything), then do some push-ups. Maybe even some sit-ups or pull-ups.. not only will it burn calories it will give you some added muscle in your abdomen. Jumping jacks are good too.. just make sure you’re clear of any fans or tables.

Did you know that if you eat ice that your body burns some calories because it heats up your body so it can burn the ice up?

Do you have weights? Do a few curls and lifts with them, it should burn some calories too.

I’d eat something healthy tonight. Maybe some grilled chicken or fish with some greens of some sort and maybe a fruit with water or tea.

Vegan Diet Help ????

This week’s question is as follows:

Question: As a vegan…….do you not drink milk and eat egs or fish….. whats te difference between vegan and vegetarian.

Also….what vitamins do you have to take cause your not eating meat. Im considering becoming a vegetarian or vegan and im curious…and i want input from a vegan instead of wikipedia or something like that

Answer: A FISH IS an ANIMAL.

FISH are ANIMALS.

A vegetarian and a vegan both do not eat meat.
Fish. Is. Meat.

Vegans do not eat any dairy, eggs, cheese, yoghurt, ice cream, or milk chocolate or ANY dairy product that comes from an animal- that means meat too, no rennet , no gelatin from hooves etc. No vegan or vegetarian eats fish, because, like chickens and baby ponies, fish are animals.

A vegetarian doesn’t eat the FLESH, BLOOD, FAT, HOOVES, or anything from a dead animal.

They can eat the milk and cheese and eggs ( technically the animal doesn’t die to make these things althouth their existence is miserable, tortured and vile, usually), but they don’t eat DEAD ANIMAL PARTS.
No fish, chickens, cows, lambs, roosters, rabbits, donkeys, puppies, sheep, piggies, piglets, pate, fois gras, wings, buffaloes, baby unicorns, hamsters or french doves, pigeons, gorillas or monkey, polar bears or antelopes or deer. They just don’t eat dead animals.

YOu don’t need to take anything.

But, ( and please don’t take this the wrong way) it sounds like you do not have much idea what a vegetarian or vegan IS, let alone what they eat, so why are you even doing this? It sounds like you don’t even know you’ll have to not buy poptarts and cheesits anymore to be vegan.

It’s a very healthy ( well, it can be, it can also be unhealthy) way to live, without animals being chopped up justs to stuff in your gob. It would help if you read up about it-
http://www.chooseveg.com/
http://vegweb.com/
http://www.vegetariantimes.com/

a whole way of living that bans killing little piglets and being cruel and torturing them, in freezing stinking slaughterhouses full of faeces and slime. Animals aren’t ALQuaida confirmed Buddha bombers,, yet they’re treated worse than scum.
